Headquartered in both Kansas City and Topeka, Evergy employs about 4,900 people who are dedicated to empowering a better future. We are recruiting candidates for a Technician at our La Cygne Generating Station. Please find below a list of the minimum requirements for the position. It is important the candidates address their qualifications in the documentation submitted for consideration.

Job Duties:
Inspect, analyze, repair, test, clean and calibrate complex electrical and mechanical systems. Install and maintain all types of instruments and controls.
Ability to utilize all types of test equipment to diagnose electronic and mechanical equipment performance.
Assist on performance and acceptance tests on new and existing equipment.
Performs similar and related work consistent with the general nature of this job classification.

Experience: Five years' experience in an electrical generation power plant or similar industrial concern with at least three years' experience as a technician or equivalent. Applicant must have successfully completed Evergy's technician trainee program or an equivalent technician-training program. Training and experience should include maintaining complex control systems involving electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical devices. Successful completion of training programs and experience other than Evergy's must be documented.

General: Must be licensed to drive as required by state law.

Testing: Written and practical testing as required by Evergy, Physical Agility Test

Education: High School or equivalent
