What You Will Do:
Strategy and Transformation Managing Consultants help our clients transform their business processes, develop and implement organizational strategies and cultural transformations, improve efficiency and operations, increase transparency and performance management, and comply with Federal laws and regulations. As a managing consultant, you will be a leader within our project and account teams, helping our clients solve complex public health and business challenges from strategy through execution. In this role you will drive our client engagements, mentor junior staff, and help shape the market’s business development and market strategies.

As a managing consultant, you will have an opportunity to deepen your specialized knowledge and consulting skills, with room for long-term professional growth and career development within the firm. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, outcomes oriented, and prepared to deliver compelling, high impact solutions to our federal health clients' toughest organizational and programmatic challenges.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for management consulting projects, from project initiation, through analysis, solutions development, implementation, and closeout; projects can span organizational development and transformation, strategic planning and implementation, business process improvement, risk management, and change management and strategic communications, as well as direct-mission support to federal health clients

  • Foster and sustain meaningful client relationships, identify client needs, and develop solutions to address these needs

  • Scope projects to meet client requirements and develop work plans that reflect project scope and client expectations

  • Play a key role in staffing projects, including identifying internal staff and interviewing external candidates

  • Provide end-to-end oversight and quality control for development of client solutions and work products, such as root cause and gap analysis, findings and recommendation reports, requirements documents, Visio process flows, standard operating procedures, strategic plans, strategic communications, and reporting dashboards

  • Facilitate large and small group meetings and working sessions, including for executive level clients, to gather requirements, identify paint points, develop strategies, and built team culture

  • Develop and implement strategic communication, staff engagement, change management, and organizational development strategies in support of transformation initiatives

  • Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment

  • Build positive team culture and working environment, mentor and develop staff, and provide regular feedback to team members

  • Understand and monitor engagement financials

  • Understand and use firm capabilities, solutions, and methodologies

  • Contribute to a pipeline of new business through active relationship development/management, proposal efforts, and thought leadership


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 6+ years professional experience

  • 3+ years consulting or client service experience

  • Experience at or supporting federal health (i.e., HHS, CDC) or other governmental agencies

  • Experience leading projects, including establishing and managing work plans

  • Experience leading a team of 4+ staff

  • Experience in strategy, organizational transformation, organizational development, process improvement, workforce strategy, change management, communications, monitoring and evaluation, or emergency response and preparedness

  • Demonstrated ability to use data and AI to inform strategy, problem-solve, and make decisions

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Master’s Degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, MPP, MHA, MPA, MSOD)

  • Change management, facilitation, coaching, process improvement, or project management certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, CAPM, PMP, CCMP, or Prosci)

  • Ability to think strategically while delivering tactically, with a keen attention to detail

  • Ability to investigate, make sense of, and break down complex client challenges into clear, digestible approaches and solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships with senior executives

  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings, trainings, or workshops with executive-level clients

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a demonstrated ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand

  • Experience conducting organizational assessments, developing strategic plans, and making recommendations for improvement

  • Experience with delivering high-quality client service in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment

  • Experience working at or consulting with federal health or other governmental agencies

  • Business development experience securing $1M+ annual contracts in the private or public sector
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
