Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a OpenSearch Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA). AWS SSAs are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable flexible and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems. OpenSearch is an open-source Apache License v2 suite under the Linux Foundation supporting a broad range of workloads. Amazon OpenSearch is a managed service that makes it simple to run OpenSearch in the AWS cloud. Are you passionate about building search observability and Generative AI applications with OpenSearch AWS is seeking a customer-obsessed and technically driven OpenSearch Specialist Solutions Architect.
As a member of the Data Specialist SA team in WWSO you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert for Amazon OpenSearch helping customers architect scalable secure and performant search analytics solutions. Youll collaborate with solution architects product teams and sales to deliver strategic guidance deep technical expertise and thought leadership in areas like semantic search observability and large-scale log analytics. Whether its advising startups on search architecture observability and security solutions or helping enterprises integrate OpenSearch with GenAI workflows youll play a key role in accelerating customer innovation.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide deep technical expertise for customer engagements involving OpenSearch designing and deploying scalable high-performance search and analytics solutions.
- Lead architectural reviews migration assessments and workshops focused on search log analytics observability and GenAI-based use cases for our customers.
- Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
- Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts solutions and initiatives.
- Build and nurture AWSs global OpenSearch expert community while creating technical enablement resources for Solutions Architects worldwide.
- Act as a thought leader in the wider community playing a key role in educating sharing best practices presenting at events and Webinars writing white papers blogs and running workshops.
- Help customers accelerate their Generative AI deployments with OpenSearch vector store

- 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 5 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5 years of experience in modern Search technologies (including OpenSearch Solr Elasticsearch Lucene etc. )
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in designing and operating search and analytics solutions in on-premise or Cloud
