Our client, a leader in Agriculture & Forestry, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Agronomist & Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join their innovative team in **Miami, Florida**. This hybrid role focuses on driving sustainable farming practices, optimizing crop yields, and advancing research in agricultural technologies. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that enhance soil health, water management, and biodiversity, while ensuring economic viability for agricultural operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of crop science, soil management, and modern agricultural techniques, combined with a passion for environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement advanced agronomic plans for a variety of crops, focusing on maximizing yield and quality while minimizing environmental impact. Conduct field research trials to evaluate new crop varieties, soil amendments, pest management strategies, and irrigation techniques. Advise farmers and agricultural stakeholders on best practices for sustainable land management, soil health improvement, and water conservation. Monitor crop health, soil conditions, and environmental factors, providing data-driven recommendations for intervention. Lead initiatives related to precision agriculture, utilizing technologies such as GPS, sensors, and drones to optimize farm operations. Develop and promote integrated pest and disease management programs that reduce reliance on chemical inputs. Educate and train agricultural professionals and growers on sustainable farming techniques and technologies. Analyze market trends and regulatory changes impacting agriculture and forestry, adapting strategies accordingly. Collaborate with research institutions, government agencies, and industry partners on projects related to sustainable agriculture. Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations to share findings and recommendations. Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for agricultural sustainability and resilience in changing climates. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote responsible resource management.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Master's degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related agricultural field. A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in agronomy, with a strong emphasis on sustainable agriculture practices. Deep understanding of soil chemistry, plant physiology, crop nutrition, and pest/disease management. Proven experience in designing and conducting agricultural research trials. Expertise in precision agriculture technologies and data analysis. Strong knowledge of environmental science and conservation principles as they apply to agriculture. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective agricultural strategies. Experience in extension services or agricultural consulting is highly valued. A passion for promoting ecological balance and economic viability in agriculture. Familiarity with tropical and subtropical agriculture is a plus given the **Miami, Florida** location. This hybrid role requires active participation in field work and on-site team meetings, balanced with remote work for data analysis and report generation.
