We are hiring an HR Operations Specialist / HR Generalist to join our People team and support our growing employee and contractor population across EMEA and APAC. In this role, you will be the backbone of our HR operations—owning systems, processes, and compliance while ensuring employees have a smooth, human-centered experience throughout their lifecycle at Testlio. Reporting to the Director, People Operations, you’ll partner closely with Managers, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and external vendors to keep our operations scalable, compliant, and thoughtfully designed.

Why will you love this job?

  • You’ll own and improve how HR actually works. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building efficient, well-documented processes and seeing the real impact of their work across the organization.

  • You’ll work globally while staying close to the people. You’ll balance operational rigor (systems, compliance, data) with meaningful employee interactions—supporting real moments that matter for employees across the EMEA and APAC.

Why will you love being a part of Testlio?

  • Great Culture: Testlio is a female-founded company, and half of our team identifies as women. We’re proud of our inclusive, purpose-driven culture where people genuinely enjoy collaborating. As part of our team (we call ourselves TestLions), you’ll help create exceptional digital experiences for our customers, while also contributing to our freelance network.

  • Remote Work: Our culture is built around remote work. We’ve created systems to allow us to successfully work together asynchronously as a fully remote and globally distributed team. Testlio provides the tools and guidance for everyone to succeed in their careers in a fully remote setting. Our working style encourages everyone to make decisions, communicate effectively, and work at a sustainable pace.

  • Investment in You: Your growth and well-being matter to us. You’ll have flexible paid time off—including national holidays, personal days, and sick days—plus stock options so you can grow with Testlio. We also provide a $300 annual learning stipend to support your personal and professional development.

  • Winning Business: Testlio is growing, profitable, and cash-strong. We are leading our industry with exceptional clients who provide us with a high NPS score and a 4.7 rating on G2. Our business model is global, enterprise, and subscription-based. Several of our largest clients have been with us for 7+ years, and many spend $500K+/year with Testlio.

What would your day look like?

  • Workflow Optimization: Audit existing HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, leave management, etc.) and rebuild them to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and eliminate unnecessary "slack-tagging."

  • Global Compliance Architecture: Manage HR operations across multiple time zones and jurisdictions, ensuring our policies (and payroll inputs) are compliant and culturally nuanced.

  • Employee Relations Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, contracts, and workplace concerns, escalating appropriately as needed.

  • Documentation & "Async" Culture: Create and maintain an internal wiki as the "Source of Truth". You will write playbooks that enable employees to find answers without requiring a live meeting.

  • Systems Management: Act as the super-user for our HRIS. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and leveraging the tool’s full automation capabilities.

  • Employee Experience (The "Basics"): Ensure that, despite being remote and global, the "moments that matter" (first day, promotions, life events) are handled with precision and care.

What do you need to succeed?

Technical Skills

  • 3-4 years of HR Operations, HR Generalist, or People Operations experience at a multi-national company.

  • Proficient in HRIS administration (BambooHR is a plus).

  • Working knowledge of EU employment law, with specific familiarity supporting employees in Estonia.

  • Experience supporting employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.

  • Comfortable partnering with payroll providers, EORs, or external vendors across the EU.

  • Experienced with project management tools (Jira, Monday, etc.).

Human Skills

  • The "Optimizer" Mindset: You derive great satisfaction from reducing a process from 10 steps to 3.

  • Global Fluency: You have experience with international employment (EORs like Deel/Remote.com or global entities) and understand the nuances of asynchronous communication.

  • Independent Driver: In a remote environment, you don't wait for instructions. You spot a broken process and propose the fix.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Business orientation: translating technical outputs into meaningful customer value.

  • Adaptability to thrive in fast-changing environments where priorities evolve as we scale.

  • A mentorship mindset to share knowledge and uplift teammates.

  • A growth mindset to continuously refine your craft, stay current with advances in finance, and seek feedback to improve.
