Position Summary

The Medical Billing Team Lead oversees a remote team of billing representatives and pod managers working within the TEBRA OR PROMPT EMR systems. You’ll provide hands-on leadership, training, and support to ensure claims are submitted correctly, payments posted timely, and denials worked efficiently. This role combines daily oversight with active client management as a working lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor billing representatives on workflows.
  • Monitor daily task completion for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct weekly account review meetings with each pod manager.
  • Join a weekly leadership meeting with the Onshore Team Lead.
  • Serve as first-line support for pod manager questions and escalate as needed.
  • Manage your own client accounts as a working pod manager.
  • Track and report performance metrics for your team.

Performance Metrics

  • Number of weekly account reviews completed.
  • Monthly AR reports generated.
  • Total claims billed and payments posted by the Tebra Team.
  • AR percentage over 90 days maintained at or below benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical billing experience (PT or outpatient preferred).
  • STRONG FAMILIARITY with Tebra (Kareo) or PROMPT EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of claim submission, ERA posting, denials, and AR workflows.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple accounts and priorities remotely.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and video communication tools.
