<p><span>The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) within Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management is responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocation views and providing advice to the firm’s high net worth clients and certain institutions.  The role of an ISG member requires a broad set of qualities, including a passion for investing, client servicing, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.</span></p> <p><span>The Tactical Asset Allocation team (TAA) within ISG seeks to generate tactical alpha for clients’ portfolios by investing across macro asset classes (equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities).  In addition to its investment mandate, the TAA team publishes several widely distributed reports and Outlooks each year, and is responsible for disseminating and communicating macro investment views to the firm’s clients.</span></p> <p><span>We are seeking a junior Vice President hire who will focus on monitoring market conditions, conducting in-depth research and generating actionable investment insights across US & Global fixed income asset classes, with a specific focus on Global IG & HY Credit, Bank Loans and CDS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in macroeconomic analysis, quantitative research, and experience in a sell-side or buyside fixed income asset allocation or portfolio strategy role. </span></p> <p>Key responsibilities: </p> <ul> <li>Conducting comprehensive research on US & Global credit markets, by analyzing market valuations, fundamental market drivers, supply-demand dynamics, geopolitical factors, and macroeconomic indicators, highlighting key findings and investment recommendations for internal and external stakeholders</li> <li>Create market monitors and new investment frameworks to drive our forecasts for Global credit markets and screen for tactical opportunities</li> <li>Utilize data analytics, quantitative models, and financial software tools to assess market conditions and generate predictive investment insights in fixed income</li> <li>The primary focus of the role will be on global credit markets, however the hire will be part of a broader team covering DM fixed income markets, and will also support our analysis of the US Treasury and Municipal bond markets</li> </ul> <p>Key Qualifications: </p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, STEM or a related field. Advanced degree (Master’s or CFA) is a plus.</li> <li>4-7 years of experience in investment research, trading, or related roles within asset management or financial services with a focus on fixed income</li> <li>Strong understanding of fixed income markets, ideally with expertise in Global Credit markets</li> <li>Proficiency in quantitative analysis and financial modeling using Excel and Python, Matlab, R, or related language </li> <li>Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms</li> <li>Passion for markets and investing</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment</li> <li>Attention to detail, patience, and ability to multi-task under pressure</li> <li>FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses (must obtain within the first 3 months)</li> </ul> <div> <p> <strong>Salary Range</strong> <br /> The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$270000.
